Jeffrey McGuire is an Ottawa-based fine artist whose most familiar medium is oil paint but delves often into mixed media. He dedicated to himself to the creation of art in his thirties and has since carved out a real niche for himself. His style is vibrant, lively and manages to bring together elements which are both fluid and geometric.
For a non-digital artist, Jeffrey has made incredible use of digital tools in his process. As an artist with no formal training, he has built a wide repertoire of skills solely through the use of resources freely available on the internet including web-tutorials and social networking platforms. As for many of us, the pandemic created challenges for local artists who dealt heavily in face-to-face networking and viewings.
Jeffrey had a leg-up as he already made great use of social networking to connect with his audience and sell his pieces but to adapt, he needed something more. We were able to work together to bridge the gaps by creating a website, e-commerce shop, content creation, logo design, business cards and made sure he had the tools and training to manage it himself. He has since sold many pieces online and even sold & shipped his pieces overseas for the first time! We had a blast and are thankful for the opportunity to work with such a kind and talented local artist.
I realized that it was time for a new website and branding to promote my fine art business. I reached out to Jesse with no doubt that he would do a wonderful job. Due to pandemic restrictions, we were able to correspond virtually about building the site. Jesse did a fantastic job with everything. My website is wonderfully laid out, easy to navigate and a breeze to manage. My clients are able to message me through the site as well as purchase art in the online store. This has made selling art more accessible to a wider audience and I was recently able to ship art overseas because of this feature! He also designed amazing business cards for me. He was able to finish everything in a short amount of time and I couldn’t be more pleased with the overall results!
